长城是我国的“世界遗产”之一，它像一条长龙盘旋在中国北方辽阔的土地上。凝结了中国古代劳动人民的血汗和智慧，是中国古代文明的象征。可是，现在的它，正在强颜欢笑，正在遭受了人们的摧残与破坏，已失去了它往日的辉煌与雄伟。
随着参观长城的游客越来越多，给长城带来了显而易见的破坏，例如：白色塑料袋、矿泉水瓶、果皮、纸屑等垃圾随处可见，严重地破坏了长城的卫生。游客还在城墙上乱涂乱画，弄得城墙狼狈不堪，破坏了长城的美观。当地村民还在垛口处和通往长城的小路上私自搭设梯子，设点收费，我为他们的行为感到羞耻。更可恶的是一些房地产开发商为自己的利益，不顾别人的劝阻，在长城周围建了很多建筑物，挖土机还在隆隆作响，铲车还在来回穿梭，忙得不可开交，不惜破坏了长城周围的景色，加速了长城周围自然景观的破坏……
站在长城上，扶着墙上的条石，耳边似乎响起了古代战争时的号角声，眼前似乎展现打战时气魄雄伟的场面。长城经历了无数次战争的洗礼和岁月的沧桑，至今还巍然屹立在我们面前。它以雄伟与壮观的景象吸引着无数前来参观的游客。它是我们古代劳动人民智慧的象征。所以，我们要保护长城。只要游客少扔一些垃圾，长城就会多一份美丽。因此，我要向大家呼吁:请大家保护我们古老的长城吧!让我们携起手来，从我们做起，从现在做起，做一个文明的游客。
